Josh Gordon Suspended With Drug Test - Joshua Caleb Gordon is an American football wide receiver for the
Cleveland Browns of the National Football League. He was selected by the
Cleveland Browns in the second round of the 2012 NFL Supplemental
Draft. Born: April 13, 1991 (age 23), Houston, Texas, United States.
Height: 6' 3" (1.91 m).
Nationality: American
Weight: 225 lbs (102 kg).
Current team: Cleveland Browns (#12 / Wide receiver).
Nominations: Fantasy Player of the Year.
Despite landing a promising pair of prospects in the first round of the 2014 NFL
draft, including Johnny Manziel, the Cleveland Browns could wind up
being the big losers of draft weekend as explosive wide receiver Josh
Gordon is facing a season-long suspension following a second failed drug
test. Gordon was suspended two games and fined two additional game checks last
year, saying that test was the result of codeine-based cough syrup. But
the report says that this punishment would stem from a failed marijuana
test, and that he received a letter from the league telling him he
faced a 16-game suspension but had the right to appeal. Gordon has a
track record with marijuana suspensions from his days at Baylor as well. The 23-year-old Gordon, who led in receiving yards last season,
was suspended for two games last season due to a violation of the NFL's
drug policy. According to the ESPN report, Gordon is facing a longer
suspension for a second violation, this time for marijuana. The first
violation reportedly was a result of using a cough syrup that contained a
banned substance. According to the report, Gordon was notified that he
faced a 16-game suspension for the second violation, but would have an
option to appeal. When reached by ESPN, Gordon didn't have much to say,
instead directing the questions to his agent.
