Kevin Durant received an overwheling 119 of 125 first-place votes to beat LeBron James and win his first NBA MVP trophy this season. Durant accepted the trophy Tuesday in the former roller skating rink the team used as a practice facility for a few years after moving from Seattle. Before the 2007 draft, everyone flipped their collective crap when Kevin Durant wasn't able to bench press 185 pounds. Durant fought back tears as he thanked each of his teammates individually, and he had a special message for his mother, Wanda Pratt. Pratt got a standing ovation from the crowd after her son said that she was “the real MVP.”
